After graduating into the pandemic, covering sports wasn't an option. I pivoted to news coverage, and spent a year reporting on central Maine with MaineToday Media's Morning Sentinel. My work influenced change across the region, rectifying an issue in the state's unemployment system, getting proper water for a mobile home park and more. I received six Maine Press Association awards for my reporting (three first-place stories) in the MPA Better Newspaper Contest, the most of any reporter working for a daily publication.
